While we packed up all of our camping stuff today and locked it away in the roof box (3 full nights sleeping in hotels in Memphis and Natchez – woo-hoo!) the kids attended a Ranger-led activity at Mammoth Cave. When we met up with them later, they were happy to show us the River Styx Hike which led us down to the tiny River Styx that feeds the larger Green River which runs through Mammoth Cave National Park. Abigail hung one of her ‘blog braids’ (Abigail has been braiding with gimp and placing a little tag at the bottom with our blog address on it) at the bottom of the trail near the river. After one last look at the Cave Mouth, we found a place where we could picnic. We had to cross the Green River on a small ferry and as we looked out over the river, it was very clear how the Green River got its name. After lunch, we hit the Double J Ranch – heehaw!
